Booking & Check-In

Information about bookings, payments and check-in.

Q: What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is 2.00pm. Check-out is 10.00am.

Reception Hours: 
Monday to Saturday: 8am – 6pm 
Sunday: 8am - 5pm

Q: Do you require a security bond upon check-in?

Yes, we require a valid credit card for a $100.00 pre-authorisation via Visa, MasterCard and AMEX (WE DO NOT ACCEPT CASH). This will be used for any incidentals or mini bar charges that may be incurred throughout the guests stay. The pre-authorisation will take 5-10 business day to drop back into the guests account. This will be used for any incidental charges that may incur during the stay.  

Q: Is after hours check-in available?

Yes, should you be arriving after hours, please contact reception prior to your stay so we can provide you with our after-hours check-in procedure.

Q: Can I have a late check-out?

Late check-outs are subject to availability. Please enquire with reception if you would like to organise a late check-out. Please note: late check-out fees apply.

Q: What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellations or changes to bookings must be made at least 48 hours prior to the check in date and time (based on 2pm arrival). If 48 hours prior notice is not provided, or for no shows, the entire booking amount will be payable. Please note: if you have booked a non-refundable room type, once payment has been taken the reservation is 100% non-refundable. 

Q: When do I have to pay a deposit?

In order to secure your reservation, non-refundable accommodation charges are payable at the time the reservation is made.
One night’s accommodation will be taken as deposit when booking is made. Balance of payment is required on arrival.

Please be advised that once payment has been taken the reservation is 100% non-refundable. A 2% fee applies to all transactions settled by MasterCard, Visa and AMEX. This fee will be added to the total of the transaction. We do not accept cash payments. For all other bookings, a credit card is used to secure the booking. You can then use a nominated credit card to settle your accommodation account on arrival.

Q: What are the reception hours?

Office hours:
Monday - Saturday: 7am - 7pm
Sunday: 8am - 5pm

The entry doors to the building will be unlocked from 7am until 8pm Monday to Saturday, and from 7am until 4pm on Sundays - guests will need their issued security swipe to access the building outside of these times. Please contact hotel for details.

Q: Can I book Airtrain tickets at reception?

Yes, we do sell Airtrain Tickets which will take you from South Brisbane Train Station to Brisbane Airport (Domestic and International). Please enquire at reception if you would like to purchase a ticket. We can also arrange private transfers - please enquire at reception for availability/associated fees.

For stays 4 nights or longer, we provide a service to apartments every 3 days.

The pool is 12m long and it is not heated.

The Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC) is located just a short walk away (750m) from The Capitol Apartments.

Q: Are there shops or restaurants nearby?

Yes, South Brisbane Train Station is located a short walk (500m) away from The Capitol Apartments. South Bank’s Cultural Centre bus station is located walk away (400m).

Q: Is there public transport nearby?

Yes, South Brisbane Train Station is located approx. 10 min walk from the hotel.

Q: What local attractions are in the area?

The Capitol Apartments are located just a stone’s throw away from South Bank’s Cultural Precinct and Parklands. Local attractions that are in within walking distance of our hotel include: Queensland Museum, Queensland Art Gallery and Gallery of Modern Art, the State Library of Queensland, Queensland Performing Arts Centre, the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, South Bank Parklands, the BRISBANE sign and the Wheel of Brisbane. Brisbane CBD is also just a short 15 minute walk away.

Both attractions are approx. 3 km walking distance.
