The festivities and holiday spirit will begin early this year with the lighting of the Brisbane City Christmas tree on November 25. Don’t miss the start of Christmas in Brisbane at this special annual event where you’ll join Lord Mayor Graham Quirk, Santa, as well as several special guests as they light up Queensland’s largest solar-powered Christmas tree and sing carols. You can witness the Christmas tree lighting up in King George Square every night until Christmas Eve!

Witness Brisbane’s most spectacular Christmas show with the Gold Lotto City Hall Lights, where Brisbane’s City Hall will light up each night with a fantastic projection show from December 8 until Christmas Eve. The Brisbane City Hall’s clock tower will sound the start of each show 15 minutes before midnight!

Head to South Bank for the Southbank Centre Christmas Market to find festive food as well as grab a few bargains and presents before the big day. Part of the Southbank Centre Winter Festival, the Christmas markets always attract a fantastic crowd - make sure to visit throughout the December!

Feel the Christmas spirit by catching an incredible festive show in the city! No Christmas is complete without The Nutcracker, and from December 8-16 you can relive the magical Christmas ballet at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre in South Bank. Also at QPAC, don’t miss Spirit of Christmas 2017 on December 22-23, a popular annual tradition at QPAC where the whole family can join in festive carol singing!
